Hey there! I'm Artem. This website is made to share photos and stories from my travels.

A blog in 2025?

I was thinking for a while about the format, but essentially landed on the website + newsletter for a couple of reasons:

  • Taking pictures is less disruptive for me during travel, I don't have to worry about recording everything on video and edit it for hours for videoblog
  • A personal website supports my vision for digital sovereignty — there is something about having my own corner in the Internet, like good old times
  • The internet has become too much of walled gardens — I like to be the change I want to see
  • I can tweak things here to my taste (for example I make custom open source solution for likes)
  • Writing text is a nice exercise to keep my mind sharp, especially now in the era of short-format videos and AI

So, what about AI?

Yea, indeed, it is easy now to generate AI-slop. The theory of the dead internet is now more relevant than ever.

I limit my usage of AI to 2 use cases:

  • Correct grammar — as a non-native English speaker I can make pretty silly mistakes
  • Review structural flow — my mind can wander too much, it is important to get feedback early on, even if it is from a robot

What to expect?

I will share some stories from the past in coming months. Maybe an article per 2-weeks. And then I'll share stories from new adventures, so sign up to get updates.

What about privacy and data?

I promise not to spam, and not share your email.

I use few services for storing generic data and analytics, and they are privacy focused. You can unsubscribe any moment and you can delete your account if you want.
